Reggie's View from Fishing Stories on Vimeo.
I think Reggie's opinion is common among people who have gone to church but don't hold it as a priority. They usually believe whatever the media pushes at the moment (God is whatever you want him to be), but when they think about it, they often conclude that the bible is the source with the right answer (Jesus is the only way to heaven).
The view that "God is whatever you want him to be," is basically a broken commandment.
Commandment #2:
You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth... - Exodus 20:4
Translated: Don't make a false god carved out of wood, stone or your imagination. A "god that is whatever you want him to be" is a god carved out of your imagination. It's an idol.
In he words of pastor Miles McPherson, "God is God, He's not applying for the job.
